I'm slowly falling apart…

The original is mysterious and makes me think a bit about my gone, younger years, while this...it sounds harsher, and more like a song warning me about something.

Synth could've totally imitated those simple chord samples' softer sound, or they could've done something like what Toy Story did and play a literal module of that single sample at different pitches.
