Phobium said: "Xerxes' tune "Phurter" from 1997 is one of my favourite tunes from him, and the idea of doing a remix has been swirling around in my head for some time. I finally started working on it in January 2011. I started off working on the pads. I exported the original strings from the .xm and time-stretched them. A lot. Same with the voice sample. Then, adding a few synths on top of the samples from the original and adding some drums etc. It took some time getting this tune done, I had to put some extra effort into the transitions between the different parts of the tune. When I was talking with Ziphoid about Sound of Scenesat #2 I thought this remix would be perfect for it, I only had to get Xerxes' approval. When the track was near completion I sent Klaus an export of it, so that I could confirm it for the compilation or say nay. He answered my e-mail twenty minutes after I sent it, which is quite impressive considering the track lasts just over twelve minutes. I was very happy and relived when I read his replay; not only was it ok, he even enjoyed the remix! He has even promised me a beer AND a drink at Solskogen this summer. Good times."
