I'm trying to grab the MIDI data from the demo 'Ecargxus' by The Phoney Coders, but I'm running into problems. The main issue is that the demo it's self has some problems when playing the music back, that it slows down during graphical intensive areas and that the demo finishes before the track even gets to it's end, so recording the music when the demo is running isn't possible.

I'd like to find a way to extract the MIDI data it's self, if it's even possible. Main issue here is - I have no idea how to.

The music is for the Roland LAPC-I, CM-32L and CM-64, being one of the very few demos to have music for them.

The demo can be found on pouet here: http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=4248
And a YouTube video of the demo can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRHa7JjUqOU

I'm wondering if there's a MID file contained in it or some other format. Anyone able to help here?

Strange that it slows down?

When i recorded the "Armour-Geddon" MT-32 music:

I had problem that that the intro ended before the song but i then slowed down the CPU using Dosbox to something like 0.5% and the music played fine and the game was stuck at the intro for how long i wanted

Slowing down DOSBox doesn't seem to work. It causes the music to keep 'pausing' at certain intervals.

Too bad it did not work
Have you tried some old ripper program to extract the midi... might work, but i can't think of any program to use... i seem to remember something called "ripper5" or similar.
