In Japan this game is originally based on the anime series Hokuto no Ken (or The Fist of the North Star). Sega, however, edited the game considerably and changed the title to Black Belt since the anime was relatively unknown in US and Europe. Although graphics and other thing such as music is different, gameplay is all the same.
