Oliver Klaewer
Location: Additional Information: Oliver Klaewer is a German former computer game composer. He mainly composed for Holger Gehrmann's companies Golden Games and reLINE Software in his hometown of Hanover, Lower Saxony. He placed a classified ad in ASM 4/87 and also composed for Kingsoft, EAS Software and Starbyte Software, all in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2001, he was working in a bank in Hanover, programming PHP4 and MySQL for his later wife's agency, producing and remixing hip hop and rap in his studio BlackBeatDepot and planning the dance project BionicBoulevard for 2002. It is unclear whether to spell Klaewer with the umlaut "ä", as he always spells it with its substitution "ae", even on paragraphs where he does use umlauts. Klaewer got a Commodore 64 for Christmas 1983 and created three music drivers in 1986, 1988 and 1992, first using Turbo Ass and later Hypra-Ass. He loved how the SID chip encouraged finding an own sound and what is important in composition and arrangement. He found the ADSR a bit unstable, samples too loud, and Soundmonitor (C64) too slow. His biggest favorite and obvious inspiration are Rob Hubbard, especially W.A.R (C64), followed by Knucklebusters (C64), some songs by Jeroen Tel, and among his own, Title - Zero Gravity.
