Well, its not a competition in the sense that you'll win some huge cash prize, but you can win some awesome recognition  We are looking for talented people out there to design some banners for the top of the page, and mini-buttons/banners for the links page (so other people can link to us).
Banners should be no bigger than 1024 pixels wide, and no more than 400 high (preferably shorter like existing rotating banners), and link buttons can't be any bigger than 88x30 pixels. All formats supported (PNG, GIF, AnimGIF etc.) For banners which don't use all of the background space, they should be transparent. You can upload your images to the web and link them here as images using the [ img ] tag. For example: [ img ]https://radio.cvgm.net/static/media/logos/cvgm_sonic2.png[ /img ] (Without the spaces between the [] braces) will produce: 
Be loud, be creative! Have an idea for a take on a classic game or demo? Feel free to use it. Experimenting with some new art form? we would like to see it! I have done one.
Maybe it should be cut and use the part to the right only
I don't have the skill to do any transparent stuff :-/

transparent stuff?
on photoshop: you can remove pixels for example by selecting them with marquee tools and then destroying them by pressing DEL (in case you have multiple layers this reveals a layer below). Before that you may have to select "create layer from background" from layer menu. Then you have to save in PNG format (or some other format which supports transparency) |

I used Paint shop Pro for my crappy stuff, making a single layer of translucency. When you save the image, it even lets you pick a colour to use as translucency in case you forgot to set the initial layer background as transparent. Works quite well. Now, if only I could actually draw...

All banners stating "CVGM" stands for "Classic Video Game Music" has been inactivated.
CVGM means "Computer and Video Game Music"
