N:Joy said: "In the last two years, at least once in a week, I heard this theme from Rob Hubbard's Warhawk resounding in my head, but with a quirk: it was played by a musette! This happened more often early in the morning, during the short walk from my parked car to my office. More than a few peasants must have heard me humming it with impromptu lyrics… In the end, I realized that something HAD to be done in order to make this annoyance end once and for all: sit down in front of my iMac, take my time and actually work my way through a gipsy-inspired rendition of that fine tune.
Therefore I chose the best acoustic instrument imitations I could find in my sample arsenal (a special mention must be made for Pettinhouse's Classical Guitar and Best Service Accordions, that fit the bill perfectly), studied how other acoustic pieces in that particular style were arranged (lately I find myself doing this more and more often: I seem to have developed an insatiable thirst for understanding what an acoustic instrument player exactly does in an arrangement and why), then did my best to trick the listener into believing that what he was hearing was a real live gipsy band. Hope I've done a decent job!"
